Yarra Valley is well known for a range of chardonnay styles that are light and elegant with citrusy acidity and stone fruit and fig flavours. Its pinot noir has rich, ripe berry tangs, while its shiraz has either a bold or light savoury flavour. Other varietals include cabernet sauvignon and méthode traditionnelle sparkling wine, which you can sample at our Yarra Valley wine tasting.
Compared to wines from warmer regions, Yarra Valley wines are lighter and more versatile for ageing from ten to 20 years or more. However, it is difficult not to indulge in their subtle flavours and rich finish immediately. Booking a winery tour in the Yarra Valley allows you to enjoy them fresh from the barrel.

Fabulous! As interstate travellers, with a weekend in Melbourne, we were looking for an easy and quick way to access the Yarra Valley. This was perfect for us. Josh picked us up from our CBD accommodation and showed us some of the Yarra Valley highlights. He was happy to tailor the tour to our wishes, which included chocolate, Chandon, wine, Four Pillars gin, plenty of food and even a last-minute decision to visit a cheese monger. Josh was great company for our group and made sure we were well looked after at each venue. At the end of a perfect Yarra Valley day, Josh safely delivered us back to the CBD.

We had our our first wine tour yesterday with @gatheryarravalley and I couldn’t recommended Josh and his team more highly. The bus itself was perfect for our group of 10, with an an esky on board we were well hydrated the whole trip. Being a local himself, Josh’s knowledge of the Yarra Valley and all its hidden gems was priceless. We couldn’t have asked for a more accommodating tour guide, he really went above and beyond, there was no better way to spend the day. We look forward to riding with Gather again soon!
